RPCC HEERF III Distribution Policy and Process

Background
RPCC has $3,623,193.60 to distribute to students as part of its HEERF III distribution. RPCC will distribute these funds based upon the following criteria and timeline.

Who is eligible to receive funds in Spring 2022?
Students enrolled in at least 1 credit hour on the spring 2022 census date (February 4, 2022) who were enrolled in at least 1 credit hour of course work at RPCC during the spring 2020, fall 2020 semester, spring 2021 semester, summer 2021 semester, or fall 2021 semester, according to the SSPS (end of term) file, excluding:

a.    Dual enrolled high school students
b.    Employees of the college

All students will receive an equal amount of $3,178.24

General Distribution Process Guidelines and Timeline
Week of February 28: The Office of Institutional Research will generate a list of eligible students. The Office of Student Services will develop email language to be disbursed to eligible students and update the RPCC CARES Act website.

Week of March 7: The Business Office will process the awards. Bank Mobile will be utilized to make funds available to students and other venues afterwards to ensure students can avail themselves of the funds.

  • RPCC received a total of $3,623,193.60 of Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) dollars allocated to the college for emergency student aid.
  • As of March 14, 2022, $3,623,193.60 has been distributed to students.
  • Approximately 1,140 students are eligible to receive an emergency financial aid grant.
  • As of May 13, 2020, 1,140 students have received an emergency financial aid grant.
  • All eligible students were awarded CARES Act funding.  Award amounts are $3,178.24 per eligible student.

Dear River Parishes Community College Student:

The United States Congress approved the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (“CARES Act”) which was signed into law by President Trump on March 27, 2020, as a result of the Coronavirus or COVID-19 pandemic. In efforts to stimulate the economy and to assist college students during this time, emergency financial aid grants have been allocated for students who meet strict eligibility guidelines as established by the United States Department of Education (USDOE).

This one-time award of $3,178.24 will be paid directly to eligible students.  No deductions from this amount will be made by RPCC to cover any outstanding balance.  Please note, you may still owe, and are responsible for, any current tuition and fees balance.

Who is eligible to receive funds in Spring 2022?

Students enrolled in at least 1 credit hour in spring 2022 census date (February 4, 2022) and who were enrolled in at least 1 credit hour of course work at RPCC during the spring 2020, fall 2020 semester, spring 2021 semester, summer 2021 semester, or fall 2021 semester, according to the SSPS (end of term) file are eligible, excluding:

a.    Current Dual enrolled high school students-(if you were Dual Enrolled prior to Spring 2022, and are currently enrolled as a regular college student, you may be eligible)
b.    Employees of the college
